Catch More Fish This Spring: Tips for Lake Trout and Perch

Spring fishing is thriving, especially for lake trout and quality perch in East Bay, making it an optimal time for anglers to enjoy fishing.

Spring fishing is off to a spectacular start at Flathead Lake, offering a diverse bounty for local anglers. The deeper waters are proving particularly fruitful, but the shallows of the East Bay are also seeing a major uptick in activity. As Cameron with Fish On Charters recently shared:

“The lake trout has been excellent so far this spring. We have also been out on east bay and the perch are very nice this yr. A lot of 12 to 14 in perch and a few small mouth.”

Whether you are targeting those impressively sized perch or testing your luck with the smallmouth bass, the current conditions suggest it’s an ideal time to get out on the water.
