Paddlefish Permit Deadline Approaches: Apply by April 1

Apply for paddlefish permits by April 1 to participate in the unique season. Applications are easy online or in-person at local FWP offices or authorized retailers. Don’t miss out!

If paddlefishing is on your list this year, don’t forget—the deadline to apply for paddlefish permits is April 1. It sneaks up fast, and once it passes, you’ll have to wait until next season.

Applying is pretty simple and only takes a few minutes. The easiest way is to go online and submit your application through Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks at:
https://ols.fwp.mt.gov/

If you’d rather do it in person, you can also apply at your local FWP office or through a License Ambassador business. These are local shops and retailers that are authorized to help with license and permit applications. If you’re not sure where the nearest one is, you can find a list here:
https://fwp.mt.gov/buyandapply/licenseproviders

Paddlefish season is a unique experience, for sure, and permits are limited, so getting your application in before the deadline is important if you want a chance to participate. If you’ve been thinking about trying it this year, now’s the time to get it done.

Mark your calendar, apply before April 1, and good luck in the drawing!
