Opportunity for Anglers: Shape Montana’s Fishery Future

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks seeks a “Licensed Angler” for its Citizen Review Panel to assist in restoring wild fish habitats. Meetings happen in June and December, with applications encouraged.

Ever feel like you spend more time thinking about Montana’s blue-ribbon trout streams than your own retirement plan? If you’re the kind of person who knows exactly which fly to hatch on a Tuesday in July and carries a valid fishing license like a badge of honor, Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks has a seat with your name on it.

The Future Fisheries Improvement Program is officially on the hunt for a new “Licensed Angler” to join their Citizen Review Panel. This isn’t just a title; it’s your chance to play God (or at least a very influential consultant) for the rivers, streams, and lakes that make the Treasure State legendary.

The gig is pretty straightforward but carries some serious weight: you’ll help review and recommend projects that restore wild fish habitats across the state. The panel meets every June and December, and they’re looking for someone ready to jump into the deep end for the upcoming summer meeting on June 10th and 11th.

If you want to be the voice for the fish and the folks who catch them, head over to the Future Fisheries Improvement Program page to snag more details. Don’t let this opportunity be the one that got away—our wild fish populations are literally counting on someone with your expertise to help keep Montana’s waters pristine!
