Don Wilkins’ Fort Peck Fishing Report: Shore Hot, Ice Cold

Fort Peck is still in a deep freeze from the Shafthouse to Rock Creek, so keep the boat on the trailer for a few more days. The good news? The shore fishing at Duck Creek is heating up even if the ice isn’t quite gone yet.

Here’s the latest report from Don Wilkins:

No boat fishing on Peck yet. Duck creek and the marina bays are still full of ice and while it is melting with this warm weather it’s sticking in there pretty stubbornly. Really need these temps and wind to stick around another 4-5 days to get them opened up. Flat lake is still froze just east of shafthouse all the way in to the boat ramp and from I’m hearing Rock Creek has minimal open water

We did manage to catch a couple walleye and some pike from shore in duck creek using some 3/8 ounce jigs and plastics so if you are interested in  some shore fishing there are a few fish to be caught while we are waiting in Mother Nature
