Don Wilkins’ Weekly Fort Peck, MT Fishing Report 2.13.26

Despite warm weather, ice conditions remain stable with 7-13 inches in various areas. Fishing activity is slowing, but decent catches persist. Caution is advised as temperatures are expected to drop soon.

Ice conditions down the Dry Arm are hanging on so far despite the warm weather. McGuire area south has 13” and the shoreline for the most part is holding up pretty well. The fishing down that way slowed down a bit, but we’re still picking up a few ling, walleye, and northerns.

Ice in the Rock Creek area is 7-8 inches with a few open points and some cracks that opened up a bit. The shoreline has rotted out a little, but easy enough to manage for some walk-on fishing still. The laker fishing has been decent in 65-75 FOW using 3/4 ounce jig heads and paddletails.

With the warm weather, use a lot of caution and check the ice all day as you go. We have some colder temps coming next week, which should improve conditions pretty quickly. Good luck and be safe out there
