Even Bears Know When Gear is Premium

Always be prepared in bear country….especially if you’re looking for bears to take pictures of…

Wildlife photographer Danny Green has spent years waiting for the perfect shot, but one of his most memorable encounters came when he wasn’t behind the camera at all, according to an article by BBC’s Wildlife Magazine, Discover Wildlife.

While taking pictures of bears in Finland, Green nodded off in his tent and woke up to a bear cub tugging on his sleeping bag. This was a situation that escalated quickly when the cub’s mom and sibling joined in. The bears won the brief tug-of-war, the cub ran off with the sleeping bag, and Green was left awake, unharmed, and out one expensive piece of gear.

It is a funny story now, but a pretty good reminder that in bear country, you always need to be alert and prepared, regardless of what you’re doing there.
