Don Wilkins’ Weekly Fort Peck Fishing Report 1.16.26

The fish are stacked—here’s how they’re catching them….

Solid bite down the dry arm still for walleye and northerns. A few catfish and an occasional burbot are showing up as well.

Catching fish from 8-20 FOW, better-sized fish for the most part in 15-20 feet. Fatheads and sucker minnows with a small single bead set 12-18” off bottom have produced most of the fish.

We also managed a few lakers jigging 3/4 ounce jig heads and white paddletails. Before the warm/wind ice, going south of McGuire was 10-12” and going north was 9-10, lots of water on the ice on Wednesday when we left.
