Cooney Ice Report 1.20.26

Cooney Ice: Green Light in Some Spots, Red Flag in Others…

Ice Conditions via FWP:
Ice thickness varies across the reservoir. Between Fisherman’s Point and Red Lodge Campground, anglers are finding approximately 4–5 inches of ice. Conditions become unsafe closer to the dam, where ice thickness drops to around 1–2 inches.

Safety Reminder via FWP:
Ice that is less than 4 inches thick is not considered safe for ice fishing. Extreme caution is advised, and anglers should avoid areas with thinner ice, especially near the dam.
