This buck had a surprise no hunter expects

He picked up his buck… and THIS happened….

Antlers aren’t welded on forever. After the rut, hormone levels drop and the bone holding antlers in place slowly starts to weaken—kind of like nature loosening the bolts. The Environmental Literacy Council states that’s why bucks shed every late winter or early spring, and if one is harvested around that time, the antlers can pop off surprisingly easily. The “glue” was already on its way out.

According to Hunter Nation, one of their members, Tyler Peck, had a moment he won’t forget. When he went to pick up his buck, both antlers came off in his hands.

A first for him, and definitely not an everyday sight. Has this ever happened to you?
