Seeing elk is always a treat — especially when they’re not something you run into every day — but this woman got a full wildlife documentary in real time. As a herd of elk crossed the road in front of her, a mountain lion casually followed behind them, clearly on the hunt. Whether the elk even knew they were being stalked was anyone’s guess, but the moment was a reminder of how wild things can get when Mother Nature decides to put on a surprise show right in front of you.
