Big Sky Warrior Outreach recently recognized Steve Earle of Missoula, a U.S. Coast Guard veteran, for his generosity and dedication to fellow service members. After years of applying, Earle finally drew a coveted Montana cow moose tag. However, due to health issues, he was unable to hunt this fall. Rather than let the opportunity go unused, Earle donated his tag through Montana’s Donated License Program, which allows licenses to be transferred to very much deserving Purple Heart recipients. The tag was awarded to Chris Grudzinski of Billings, a 13-year member of the Montana Army National Guard, Purple Heart recipient, and co-founder of the Montana Veterans Meat Locker with his wife, Kristin. Thanks to Earle’s act of kindness, Grudzinski was able to experience the hunt of a lifetime and successfully harvested a mature dry cow moose.
Big Sky Warrior Outreach also extended special thanks to Brian and Kary Engle, owners of Meats of Montana–Pioneer Meats in Big Timber, for their continued support of veterans. The Engles and their team once again provided processing for the animal harvested by a deserving veteran participating in one of the organization’s events. Their generosity ensures that Chris and his family will enjoy exceptional Montana moose meat this winter.
Big Sky Warrior Outreach expressed deep appreciation for all involved, noting that acts of service and community support like these truly embody the Montana spirit. “Thank you, Mr. Earle, for your service to our country and your continued support of our nation’s veterans! God Bless you, sir,” the organization said. They also thanked Meats of Montana for honoring those who have served, as well.
