Snagging Season Is On—But Cleaning Stations Are Off

Fort Peck Marina reminds anglers to plan ahead this snagging season—the fish are running, but the cleaning station is closed.

Fort Peck Marina is reminding anglers that the Army Corps of Engineers has shut down the fish cleaning station for the season. That means no cleaning fish on the docks, no leaving piles of weeds behind (toss them back in the water), and no slipping carcasses or guts into the marina trash cans. Instead, fishermen will need to plan ahead and process their catch elsewhere. It may not be the most convenient news, but with a strong salmon run expected, Fort Peck Marina says it’s shaping up to be a great snagging season for those ready to reel in some big ones.
