When the Sky Bites Back

Lightning is no joke—tragically underscored by the recent loss of two hunters who were struck and killed during a storm…

Lightning doesn’t mess around—it’s nature’s way of reminding us just how small we are. A single strike carries more heat than the surface of the sun and can jump through the ground, trees, or even gear in an instant. Lightning doesn’t care if you’re hunting, casting a line, or even just walking on the sidewalk. Sadly, we were reminded of this danger close to home when the two missing hunters in southern Colorado were recently found after being struck and killed by lightning. It’s a heartbreaking loss and a sobering reminder that storms can turn dangerous fast, no matter how prepared or experienced you are.
