Richard and Sheri Russell know a good adventure when they see one. Last week, the couple packed up in southeast Idaho and made the long trek to Fort Peck Reservoir, answering the irresistible call of “Black Jaw Fever.”
If you’ve tangled with a Peck salmon, you already know what the fever is all about. These fish are tough. To the Russells, there is something magical about Fort Peck itself. Between the sheer size of the reservoir, the endless stretches of shoreline, and that backdrop, the place has a way of getting under your skin.
And the Russells know big fish. By the way—their biggest salmon this year tipped the scales at 24 pounds… and last year they landed a 30-pounder!
Richard has been a longtime listener of the Montana Outdoor Radio Show, following along since the very beginning. He’ll tell you the show has fueled many of his fishing trips—and this one was no exception.
