Canyon Ferry: Walleyes are being caught throughout the reservoir. Local hot spots are between the Ponds, Confederate to Duck Creek, Hole in the Wall to the Silos, north of White Earth and Avalanche to Hellgate. The north end bays are producing walleye as well. Most walleye are being caught on bottom bouncers with a worm harness or slow death rigs in 20 to 30 feet of water. Rapalas and jigs are working as well. Worms are doing better than leeches and chartreuse seems to be a good choice for spinner blade color. A few perch are being caught by anglers using walleye rigs in these same areas. Rainbows are being caught on walleye gear, lures or cowbells in the traditional walleye spots as well as the north end of the reservoir around Cemetery Island and Hellgate. Shore fishing is slow. Hauser: The best walleye bite has been inside the Causeway arm or around the Eldorado tailings while using various jigs and leeches or crawlers. A few rainbows continue to be caught from shore below Canyon Ferry Dam while using crawlers and a marshmallow or Powerbait, and while trolling cowbells with wedding rings and crawler pieces between York bridge and the Dam. Holter: The perch and walleye bite has been great inside the Canyon, near Ming Bar, Cottonwood Creek, and around other weed beds on the lower end of the reservoir while using various jigs tipped with crawlers or leeches in 15 to 20 feet of water. Good numbers of rainbows are being caught throughout most of the reservoir while trolling either cowbells with spinner combos or gold-colored crankbaits. The best kokanee bite has been during the early morning hours while trolling dodgers with hoochies or wedding rings tipped with shoepeg corn around 60 to 70 feet deep near the Dam.
