Fort Peck Delivers Again

These two are all about reelin’ and feelin’ good at Fort Peck!

Scott Combs and his friend, Kevin Everett, of Butte, had a great day fishing on Fort Peck, yesterday According to a post by Combs in a social media group, they were reeling ’em in, tipping the scales with a 13.5-pound Chinook salmon and a nice 14.5-pound laker.

Fort Peck is one of the few places in Montana where anglers can catch Chinook salmon, thanks to a long-standing stocking program managed by Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks. Each year, FWP stocks hundreds of thousands of Chinook salmon fingerlings into the reservoir, supporting a highly sought-after fishery (Montana FWP, 2023). While the lake is known for its diversity, salmon fishing draws serious anglers hoping to hook one of these powerful fish.

With today as their last day on the water, Combs and Everett are looking forward to what Fort Peck might offer next! Nice work, you two, and good luck!
