Captain’s Fort Peck Salmon Update 8.4.25

Black Jaw Fever is in full swing at Fort Peck!

It is full-blown Black Jaw Fever this week as the salmon bite heats up the first week into August—and the Captain’s, Don Jamison’s, and Gary Rueb’s catches in the pictures prove it! With plenty of fish in the lake and a strong run underway, anglers are cashing in using Ghost, Gold Dollar, and UV Dolphin flies behind 8- to 11-inch flashers. Chrome greens and Salmon Candy are holding their own, too. Bell Point to Graves and the Pines have been hot zones—so if you’re not out there yet, you’re missing out. And it’s just getting better!

Good luck, and tight lines!
