Even though this interesting story dates back to 2023, it’s making the rounds online again, so we figured it’s the perfect time to revisit the original story. Students at Groff Elementary in Moses Lake, WA, came home with quite the school day recap for their parents. A school lockdown was sparked by what was initially believed to be a mountain lion lurking nearby. But after protocols were followed and classrooms were secured, the culprit turned out to be something far less threatening (and far more memorable): a fat cat eating a rat. You read that right. According to school officials, it was a first-of-its-kind report and one that definitely gave students a lockdown story they’ll never forget. Oops!
