Being Human

Critics complain, but real outdoorsmen learn, teach, and grow—one mistake at a time. More from Montana Grant here…

Humans, that are Hunters and Gatherers are Human. This means that we learn from mistakes.

Like it or not, even your best hunting or fishing buddy may screw up. Accidents and mistakes happen. These sports are emotional, and tempers can flare up. If you are not very forgiving, you will spend your outdoor time alone. You may need to groom your sporting friends or accept grooming from them.

A Big Fat Mistake will teach you more in a moment than a boatload of successes.

Mistakes make you think.

Humans are visual learners.

Humans make choices. We choose to be honest, ethical, follow the limits and rules and be good sports.

Critics, whiners, and complainers are humans that rarely find happiness or success. They would rather dwell on the negative and put others down to their lower and sadder level.

If you are not a happy human, you are doing it wrong.

Life is about helping, teaching, and sharing with others. We appreciate advice and support, and it feels good to give it.

Be the best Human that you can be. This will help you sleep and feel better. Anyone can be rude, ignorant, judgy, and nasty. Don’t be that human.
