Upper Missouri Paddlefish Update VI, June 5, 2025

As the sixth weekend of the season nears, conditions on the Upper Missouri are shifting—what does it mean for paddlefish chasers?

by biologist Cody Nagel

As we approach the sixth weekend of the 2025 season on the Upper Missouri, flows continue to drop slightly but remain somewhat stable.

Flows are well below the long term average for this time of year. Currently, flows at the Landusky stream gauge are 9,600 cfs. Paddlefish can still be found in areas throughout the FRB area and downstream. I expect paddlefish to continue to remain in these areas if the flows continue to remain stable.

Access roads and campgrounds are in good condition, and the weather looks fairly dry through the weekend. Best of luck out there!
