Hunter Claims Warden Broke the Law to Bag Him

Was it a legal hunt—or a personal vendetta dressed in camo and court orders?

According to an article via OutdoorLife, Mark Luster, a self-described “renowned hunter”, is suing a state game warden who he says went full CSI over a patch of dirt. The warden, Dan Henderson, slapped Luster with baiting charges after allegedly shady drone pics and trail cam shots suggested deer snacks had once graced Luster’s land. The problem is that there was no bait found during the season, and the charges fizzled.

Now Luster’s firing back with a federal lawsuit, claiming Henderson violated his Fourth Amendment rights and hunted him more than any whitetail. He says the whole case was fueled by envy, bad blood, and maybe a little too much courtroom drama.

The real kicker is that Luster’s viral Facebook post of his trophy buck (captioned “Checkmate!”—yes, really) went up just hours after the anonymous drone narc tipped off the warden. Henderson’s search warrants, the lawsuit argues, were based on legally questionable drone footage and some creative courtroom storytelling.

In the end, the charges were dropped, but Luster says his reputation is shot, his business took a hit, and now he wants justice—and maybe some cash—to even the score.
