Antler Heist — Blackhawk Edition

When a military helicopter lands in the Montana backcountry, what happens next is anything but standard procedure..

Three Montana National Guard guys allegedly decided to turn a military training flight into a shed-hunting side hustle. They landed a Black Hawk helicopter—in full action-hero style—on someone’s private ranch in the Crazy Mountains and grabbed some elk antlers like it was an episode of “Outdoor Pawn Stars.”

However, the rancher wasn’t impressed.

Now they’re facing trespassing charges, because shockingly, landing military aircraft uninvited and looting antlers isn’t covered under “standard operating procedure.” FWP is investigating, and the rancher’s like, “Nice try, but no.”

Moral of the story? If you want elk antlers, try walking—and maybe ask first. Also, maybe don’t use a multi-million-dollar helicopter, illegally, as your getaway vehicle.
