The Gallatin has been fishing good and should be good for the foreseeable future. We are just starting to see a little bit or runoff starting on the Gallatin so it is officially worm season. We have all been hearing good reports of fish being caught everywhere from above big sky near the park to the valley here in Bozeman. Fishing with nymphs has been the most consistent way to put fish in the net as of late and right now it is pretty tough to beat a red wire worm or pink fish finder worm pattern up top to a girdle bug, a hare’s ear blowtorch, black inferno-gon, the imp, or Pheasant tail 14-16″ inches behind the top fly. Dry fly fishing can be hit or miss but if you see them rising we suggest throwing blue wing olives or buzz balls/gnats.
