Don Wilkins’ Weekly Fort Peck Fishing Report 4.24.25

Spring is heating up on Fort Peck with walleye, smallmouth, northerns—and even a few surprise lakers—making for a solid week of multi-species action in shallow water.

Walleye fishing has been consistent this past week on Peck and still finding some good fish. Most of our fish have come from 12 feet or less. VMC 1/4 ounce jigs in the fathead color has worked the best with a few different darker colored 3.3-3.8 inch paddle tails.

Smallmouth fishing has been good the past few days, also. Same jig/plastic patterns as well as jigs and minnows. Most of the smallies have been in 10 feet or less, especially around shallow rock piles.

Lots of northerns being caught, also. We picked some up casting and pulling crankbaits plus a few lakers with the crankbaits, as well. All in all, fishing has been getting better the farther into April we get. Good luck out there!
