BOLO: Gallatin County asks for help in locating hiker missing since fall

As more and more people venture outside to enjoy our spring weather, Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance from hunters and hikers who explore the New World Gulch/Bear Canyon area.

As more and more people venture outside to enjoy our spring weather, Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance from hunters and hikers who explore the New World Gulch/Bear Canyon area. David Butzin (Boot-Zeen) was reported missing on November 25, 2024. His vehicle was located in the New World Gulch/Bear Canyon area. Gallatin County Search and Rescue exhausted all search efforts at that time. Mr. Butzin was not located. It was common for him to adventure off-trail. There are currently no leads to his whereabouts beyond the mentioned area.

It is unknown the clothing Mr. Butzin was wearing when he went missing.
