Flathead Valley Fishing Report with Dick Zimmer from Zimmer Tackle

Flathead Lake, Lake Mary Ronan, Crow Reservoir, Swan Lake

This is Dick Zimmer reporting from Pablo, Montana at Zimmer Tackle

Flathead Lake
What is happening now is I was out on East Bay and Turtle Bay on Flathead Lake yesterday and I wouldn’t go again.

The ice was deteriorated to the point where I don’t believe it’ll be safe in the next few days.

Flathead Lake Spring Mack Days starts on March 13th.

Lake Mary Ronan
Lake Mary Ronan has begun to produce some kokanee. That ice should still be good there. I was out on Crow Reservoir about a week ago and there was over two feet of ice there. The problem with Crow is it often melts along the shore and sometimes it’ll take a plank to get out on it successfully. But it should be good for another week or so.

Swan Lake
I did spend a part of the day up on Swan Lake, and I am a little skeptical that that ice is maintaining safety.

Ashley Lake

Ashley Lake has been producing a lot of kokanee and those northern lakes generally hold the ice better and safer than down here towards the reservation.

That’s pretty much it.

If you need more information, you can give me a call on my personal cell, which is 406-250-0241.

Or you can call our store, which is 406-675-0068. Have a good week, fishers.
