Don Wilkins’ Weekly Fort Peck Fishing Report 3.27.25

Ice is holding on for now, but open water is spreading fast…

We have quite a bit of ice on the main still and a pretty good cool down coming this weekend. The Flat Lake area was almost open Thursday morning with the east wind pushing the ice out, but a shift in wind direction would push it back shut.

There is also a big open area south of Bear Creek that extends nearly halfway across to York Island that is opening up pretty quickly.

The dock is in at Duck Creek and we were able to get out with the boat and did pretty well on some northerns not far from the ramp. Most of the fish were caught on Marble Eye jigs and and some Kietech 3.25” paddle tails.
