Man killed while bear hunting as bear falls from tree

A 58-year-old Virginia man died this month when an injured bear fell from a tree on top of him.

A 58-year-old Virginia man died this month when an injured bear fell from a tree on top of him.

The Associated Press reports a hunting group chased the bear up a tree on Dec. 9. As the group retreated, a one of the hunters shot the bear.

The bear fell from the tree, injuring Lester C. Harvey, 58, of Phenix, Virginia.

The man was taken to two hospitals, but later died.
