BEST HUNTING SONGS!!! by Montana Grant

Music is a wonderful addition to outdoor sports. For some, the sounds of water, wind, rain, or nature are musical. For others, special music playlists may be in order.  Back in the day, we had to travel to a check station to validate our deer kill. These stations were never located near where we hunted…

Back in the day, we had to travel to a check station to validate our deer kill. These stations were never located near where we hunted and needed a road trip. I made a cassette tape called “Check Station Tunes.” The soundtrack was full of upbeat and fun celebratory music. There were songs from Def Leppard, the Who, ACDC, Ted Nugent, and many other common bands. Whenever I hear these songs, I remember traveling to a check station.

Everyone’s taste in music is different. Here are a few classic suggestions for your hunting playlist.

Hank Williams Jr. A country Boy Can Survive

Ted Nugent   Fred Bear

Blake Shelton    Grandads Gun

Luke Bryan   Hunting, Fishing, and Loving Everyday

Turnpike Troubadours   the Bird hunters.

Listen to what you like. Music can boost your morale, energy, and focus. Certain tunes are inspirational and just fun. Classical music like “The Ride of the Valkyrie’s or maybe the Who, “Won’t Get Fooled Again” may fit your mood.” They Call Me the Breeze” is a great song by Lynyrd Skynyrd for traveling down the road.

The songs help pass the time when I am on the hunt. The tunes echo in my head as I search for a big buck of bull. Native people often chanted or had rhythms that they sang when afield. Rhythms and songs bring back memories.

Rock and Roll to and from the Hunt!
