At approximately 7:58 pm on 06/26/2024, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Dispatch
received a call of a missing person in the Kootenai River.
It was reported that Jared Satterlund and Jessica Prado had been kayaking in
the Kootenai River above Kootenai Falls when they started having problems.
Satterlund was attempting to assist Prado, who was in the water and reported
that he had last seen Prado struggling in an eddy in the river when he lost
sight of her.
Deputies from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and David Thompson Search
and rescue responded to search for Prado. A cooler was found near the shore
above Kootenai Falls and the damaged kayak and other property were
recovered below Kootenai Falls.
Two Bear Air Rescue were contacted and responded to assist with the search.
David Thompson Search and Rescue is continuing a ground and water search
and will possibly receive additional assistance from Two Bear Air Rescue if
