Lost Horse Road is currently impassable about ½ mile past the upper gate resulting from recent damage caused by heavy rains that washed out a section of the road about 10 feet wide and up to 4 feet deep. A nearby culvert is also partially obstructed with debris. Forest Service engineering and equipment specialists will be working to complete repairs as soon as possible.
This section of road was currently closed to motorized (beyond the gate) due to soft road conditions and snow at higher elevations. For the latest road conditions, contact the Darby-Sula Ranger District at 406-821-3913.
