May the Fourth be with You Today

…..and on that note, check out this post by FWP about the Chinook Rod and Gun Club’s annual fishing day for Blaine County FOURTH graders and country schools that was held on May 2nd:

We know we have tough 4th graders in northeast Montana…but how tough?

How about happily fishing in blizzard-like conditions tough.
The Chinook Rod and Gun Club’s annual fishing day for Blaine County 4th graders and country schools was held yesterday at Faber Fishing Access Site south of Chinook, near Cleveland. For the 4 hours of the event, it snowed…and snowed…and snowed. It was around 35 degrees with winds between 20-30 mph at times.
However, the 100 or so kids that showed up still grabbed a rod provided by FWP, baited up with a fresh crawler, and gave it a go. The Chinook Rod and Gun Club also provided tasty traveling tacos and a T-shirt for the kids.
Only four fish were caught, but the kids will have a story they can tell their grandkids about “that one time we went fishing on a snowy day in May.”

As one kid told us: “It’s better than taking tests!” We couldn’t agree more!
