Hi everyone,

Just wanted to send a quick follow up to last weeks’ email update. As I said in that email, the upcoming week would mean a lot for the potential for an upper Salmon River Chinook fishery. Unfortunately, since last Friday we’ve only had 2 more PIT tagged Sawtooth fish cross over Bonneville Dam.

What this means is that while last week we were looking at a potential harvest share around 450 fish, it has now slipped to under 350.

We’ll continue to monitor the return and provide the most up-to-date information to the Commission, including any potential fishery proposal, by the end of next week. As you might guess, if we are able to have a fishery, it will likely be pretty limited in both area and time, given such a small harvest share.

Sorry I don’t have better news to share, but I’ll keep you all posted with another update next week.

Thanks,
