The BLM has proposed increasing the entrance and cabin fees for Garnet Ghost Town.
The BLM reports than more than 30,000 people visit the historic ghost town every year from May to October.
This Garnet Ghost Town Business Plan includes a proposed $10 per person ages 16 and older fee at Garnet Ghost Town beginning in May 2024 and a proposed increase in cabin rental fees to $50 for the McDonald and Dahl Cabins beginning in December 2024.
Current fees are $3 per person ages 16 and over. Cabin fees are $30 and $40. Fees have not increased since 2005.
A public comment period is open until January 16, 2024.
