Both reservoirs are one week away from their annual ice fishing tournament. Fresno has good ice. Walleye fishing is good in low light periods on the main lake points. Best method is jigging forage minnows and jigging raps tipped with minnow heads. Tip ups with salted minnows are also being used. Best depth 10’ to 18’. Some perch and crappie are also being caught in the deeper basin areas during the day. Perch jigs are working.

Nelson Reservoir walleye fishing remains good mainly along the weed lines. Tip ups with live minnows are working in 8’ to 20’ of water. Perch fishing is picking up in the basin areas north of the big island. Perch jigs with small minnows are working in 25’ to 30’ of water.
