Are you looking to take a youngster out fishing? If you are, did you know that Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks has an entire page on their website dedicated to taking a kid fishing with resources and information on where to fish?
If you have never fished, yourself, before, that’s okay, too! They even have a checklist on what you should bring fishing.
There is also a link for a program called Hooked on Fishing which currently has nearly 200 classrooms participating. The focus of the program is “cultivating responsible, informed, and ethical behavior among upper elementary and middle school students to help them better understand and enjoy the aquatic environment, improve angling skills, and increase user safety.”
There is even a map of some good family fishing waters to check out.
