The Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission is giving the public a chance to weigh in on everything from mountain lion regulations to beaver relocation projects.
The commission will host its next public meeting on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. Attendees can participate in person at the Montana Heritage Center in Helena (225 N. Roberts St.), stream the meeting via Zoom, or gather at any regional FWP office.
The Agenda
The commission is making critical decisions regarding Montana’s outdoor spaces and wildlife management. The main topics under review include:
- Elk Hunting Access Agreements: Rules and parameters regarding where hunters can access land.
- Beaver Translocations: The logistics of moving ecosystem-engineering beavers to new habitats.
- Mountain Lion Regulations: Management and policy updates for big cats in the CMR and ULB areas.
- MaltEurop Renewals & Amendments: Standard but essential updates to regional land and wildlife management.
