Happy Hour Bar Views: Hebgen Lake’s Water Level Climb

Hebgen Lake’s elevation is rising, currently at 6,530.53 feet, signaling a positive change after a dry winter. Happy Hour Bar’s views reflect hope for the upcoming summer season.

It’s encouraging to see Hebgen Lake finally getting its act together and climbing back up, a sight made even better thanks to the latest reels from Happy Hour Bar. While the stats from USGS has been clocking the elevation at around 6,530.53 feet, as of April 24, 2026, watching that shoreline actually advance in real-time is the kind of dopamine hit we needed.

After a winter of sweating over skinny snowpacks and drought forecasts, seeing the water reclaim the dirt is a great sign for the summer ahead. We’re still a few feet from the “summer party” level, but if the view from the Happy Hour Bar is any indication, the Madison River Basin is finally shaking off the dry spell and heading in the right direction.
