Talk about a productive week at the office! Sixteen-year-old Ryder Humphries spent early November of 2025 rewriting the history books, landing two separate world records in just five days on Alberta’s Bow River. According to Field & Stream, Humphries first nabbed the junior all-tackle length record with a pink grub on November 2nd, only to outdo himself on November 7th with a 27.5-inch beast that claimed the overall all-tackle length title.
While these “streamer-eating” machines are more known for their voracious appetite than their record-breaking frequency, Humphries proved that if you throw a rainbow-patterned spoon in the right spot, even the “junior” in the boat can become the undisputed heavyweight champ.
The biggest bull trout in the IGFA record books weighed a whopping 32 pounds. Angler N. Higgins caught that fish in Idaho’s Lake Pend Orielle in 1949.
That’s a story to pass on, for sure!
