Ripple: The Center for Education and Ecosystem Studies at Montana Technological University is seeking volunteers to support its Watershed Science Program during the upcoming spring field season.
Volunteers will help lead hands-on learning stations for students from Anaconda, Philipsburg, and Deer Lodge, guiding activities such as macroinvertebrate sampling, water quality testing, and riparian assessments. Field trips are scheduled for April 14, April 15, April 30, and May 11, with sessions running from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
No prior expertise is required to participate. Volunteers will receive on-site training from Ripple staff to ensure they feel confident leading a station. Enthusiasm for science and working with students is the most important qualification. Participants may indicate a preferred station when signing up.
Ripple: The Center for Education and Ecosystem Studies engages communities across Montana and the Clark Fork Watershed through student programs, teacher professional development, and public outreach focused on place-based environmental education.
