Don Willkins’ Weekly Fort Peck MT Fishing Report 4.2.26

Walleye and Northern pike fishing at Peck has been productive, especially with 1/4 ounce jigs. Lakers are also being caught using crankbaits in deeper waters. Water temperatures remain cold.

  • Walleye and Northern pike fishing on Peck has been good the past week between weather systems. 1/4 ounce VMC jigs in the clown pattern and pink fire UV rigged with plastics or minnows worked the best for us. The majority of the fish we saw were from 5-15 feet.
  •  There are quite a few lakers shallow and pulling Salmo crankbaits in 30-40 FOW at 2.1-2.3 turned up some good  fish the last couple times out.
  •  Water temps are staying in the mid to upper 30’s for the most part from what we saw from the Pines, west to the dam area, and south to Rock Creek. Cold temps forecasted for the next 7-10 days probably won’t change that much
