Don Wilkins’ Weekly Fort Peck Fishing Report 3.13.26

This past week, fishing on Peck was impossible due to warm weather and unsafe ice conditions, signaling the end of the season. Areas near the dam have opened up, hinting at potential boat usage soon. It’s an opportune time to service ice fishing gear and prepare for next winter.

No fishing for us on Peck this past week. Warm weather and wind has made the ice we went and  checked too unsafe for us so we called it a season

There’s been a lot of areas on the main near the dam and duck creek that have opened up the past week and with some temps in the 70’s next week maybe with some luck the boats will be out soon

Now is a great time to go through all of the ice fishing gear and make any repairs and making sure everything is dry before storing. Checking tip up terminal tackle, jigging rods and reels plus the line and leaders before storage will save a lot of prep time next winter. We also disconnect the batteries from any electronics we won’t be using until next winter and replace the blades on any of the augers that need it.
