Everyone is invited to bundle up, drill a few holes, and join the fun at the Ackley Lake Club 2026 Woodsy Cup Ice Fishing Derby—a full day where bragging rights, big fish stories, and community spirit collide on the ice.
Taking place January 31st at Ackley Lake State Park in Hobson, the derby is all about getting outdoors, having fun, and seeing what’s swimming below the ice. Anglers will be targeting Tiger Muskie and Trout, with fishing running from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, followed by awards, raffle drawings, and a 50/50. Entry is just $20 for adults, and kids 12 and under fish for free, because the next generation of anglers deserves a seat (or bucket) on the ice, too!
Even those who can’t make it out to fish can still be part of the action. The raffle prizes are stacked—gift cards, cash prizes, gear, dog food, local business goodies, and more—all donated by generous sponsors who love the lake. Best of all, winners do not need to be present. Raffle tickets are a great way to support Ackley Lake while taking a shot at some seriously good prizes!
