Don Wilkins’ Weekly Fort Peck Fishing Report 1.22.26

The bite is still hot—but timing is everything right now. Here’s what’s working and where to be careful…

Finally, some cold weather. Ice conditions in the McGuire Creek area are pretty good now. There are a couple of shallow points that opened up in the heavy wind a few days ago and still haven’t refroze so use caution near the shoreline

The walleye and pike fishing is still very good, although the up and down weather fronts have made the bite windows smaller throughout the day. Fatheads and sucker minnows on tip-ups are still catching the most fish for us in 12-18 FOW. We also caught a few walleye using a Northland tackle coffin spoon with a half minnow with the jigging rods.
