Don Wilkins’ Weekly Fort Peck Fishing Report 1.2.26

Peck is starting to look real inviting—thicker ice and more fish!

The ice and fishing on Peck this past week keep getting better. Most places, we set up the ice was 9-10 inches, and there is a pretty good sheet of ice now running north from McGuire point, but we have yet to check the thickness on that newer ice.

Walleye fishing was good using mostly tip-ups and sucker/fathead minnows with either a green or white bead 6-8” above the minnow. Northland tackle 1/16 ounce forage minnow and coffin spoons, with a half minnow caught some fish as well.

The ice is getting thicker, and with that, a few pressure cracks are starting to pop up, so as always, check your ice as you go. Stay safe and good luck out there.
