Tips sought on white-tailed deer poached at Blue Mountain Recreation Area near Missoula

A White-Tailed Buck Was Left to Rot. The Race to Find the Shooter Is On….

MISSOULA – Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks game wardens are seeking information on a white-tailed deer buck that was shot and left to waste at the U.S. Forest Service Blue Mountain Recreation Area just west of Missoula.

The deer is believed to have been killed between the evening of Nov. 18 and morning of Nov. 19 near the 301 Trailhead, a short distance off the main Blue Mountain Road.

FWP game wardens say that wildlife crimes like this one are often solved because of leads from the public and encourage anyone with information to make a report. Anyone with possible tips on this incident is encouraged to contact game warden Chris Hamilton at 406-210-7513.

You can also visit tipmont.mt.gov for more information on reporting natural resource crimes and who to contact in your local area. You may be eligible for a reward.
