Yellowstone River Fishing Report 11.10.25

Blustery fall weather is challenging anglers around Livingston, but calm days still bring steady rainbow action and late-season hatches on the Yellowstone River.

The following report is by Yellowstone Angler in Livingston, MT:

Fall is here and unfortunately around Livingston, with the weather brings little extra wind to the equation.  Keep an eye on the forecasts and the area you want to float.  It might not be a great idea to commit to a 10 mile float if you have to battle a 20 mph steady wind with gusts in the 40s. On such days wade wishing will be a better option for your back.

Most of the leaves are are gone now but the mountains look amazing with a solid dusting of snow.  Still plenty of 15-18″ rainbows on the prowl.  The browns are on the gravel now, either in tributaries or spot redds in the river, so we’ll let them spawn.

If the wind is down and the hatch is on it will either be baetis or midges.  Both will happen later in the day as temps warm up.
