Don Wilkins’ Weekly Fort Peck Fishing Report 10.9.25

Fall fishing is heating up—pike, smallmouth, and lakers are all on the move as the water cools down.

Pike-Fish are getting pretty active in the shallows now. Spoons, shallow running crankbaits, and Blue Fox #6 spinners have been working well.

Smallmouth-Bigger fish are still out deep off rocky points and on deep rubble piles. Jigs and plastics, and slip bobbers with fathead minnows worked the best for us last week

Lakers-Finding some fish setting up on the deep edges of their spawning areas in 130-115 FOW. Surface water temp was about 64 on Wednesday, so some cooler weather is needed to get the temp below 60 to get the fish moving up shallow.

The salmon snagging has been hit or miss this past week, but when they’re in the bays. There have been a lot of fish being caught. The Lakeridge Lodging and Bait Shop is offering a fish cleaning service since the cleaning stations are closed for the year. Give them a call to get details,

Good luck out there!
