Don Wilkins’ Weekly Fort Peck Fishing Report 9.26.25

From shallow weed-bed pike to rocky-shore smallmouth, plus walleye, lake trout, and salmon action, the bite is heating up across the lake…

Pike-Good fishing over some shallow weed beds, casting spoons and shallow running crankbaits, Best areas were close to the main lake on weeds with 5-10 FOW over them.

Smallmouth-Good bite the last few days, casting VMC 1/4 ounce jigs and 3.3-3.8 inch Kietech paddletails along rocky shorelines and rocky main lake points.

Walleye-Had some success pulling crankbaits and bottom bouncers in 14–20 FOW. Most of our fish were in the cups adjacent to main lake points.

Lake trout-Finding some pretty big schools starting to move out of the deeper humps and flats up onto ledges in 110-115 FOW.

Lots of salmon in the Marina bay the last week. Several people have been having success casting spoons and spinners for them.
