What Your Arrow Hit Tells You…

Here are some tips on how to track smarter, not harder..

When you let an arrow fly, the recovery game starts with knowing where you hit. For example, a heart shot usually comes with the classic “mule kick” and a short, frantic sprint before the deer tips over—rarely more than 150 yards. However, lung shots can be sneakier, sometimes making the deer stroll off like nothing happened, but they almost always go down within a similar distance. The key is to be patient. Check out these images by Realtree that remind us that a little wait goes a long way in turning a good shot into a clean recovery!
